Rustic Elegance on Tap
At Shepherd’s Tap, we bring a unique and memorable mobile bar experience to your celebration. Our handcrafted cedar trailer is more than just a bar—it’s a conversation piece designed to elevate weddings, private events, and celebrations across Virginia and North Carolina.
Inspired by our loyal German Shepherd, Max, Shepherd’s Tap was built on the idea of bringing people together. Just like Max never misses a good gathering, we believe every event deserves great company, good conversation, and a refreshing pour.
Featuring eight taps, climate-controlled comfort, and rustic charm, Shepherd’s Tap blends craftsmanship with convenience to ensure your guests enjoy every moment. Whether it’s a wedding, retirement, or tailgate, we deliver quality service and a touch of character—because every good story deserves a great pour.
The Journey of Shepherd's Tap:
We began with an empty trailer- four walls and a floor. There were no blueprints—just a vision and a lot of determination. At first, we thought it might become a wedding décor trailer, but over time, that idea evolved into something much more unique: a walk-in mobile bar that felt like stepping into a rustic barn.
Every inch of Shepherd’s Tap was designed and built by hand. There were plenty of mistakes, long nights, and re-dos, but each one brought us closer to what we pictured in our heads. We used scrap wood to mock up layouts, moving pieces around until it finally started to feel right. The cedar walls, the warm lighting, the rope handrails—all of it came together through trial, error, and persistence. We even crafted the cedar posts ourselves by cutting down a cedar tree and stripping the bark by hand.
This project became a labor of love for both me and my wife, Erica. We spent countless late nights working through every challenge—heat, cold, storms, and setbacks. But what kept us going was the idea of creating something no one else had: a mobile bar that’s more than just a bar. It’s a space to gather, laugh, and take great photos—a place that feels alive.
And of course, Max, our German Shepherd, has been part of it all. He’s our constant shadow, a Chick-fil-A–loving, cuddle-demanding, people-watching dog who might just prefer an IPA if he ever had a say. He’s the heart of Shepherd’s Tap, reminding us every day to enjoy the simple things—good friends, good times, and a cold drink after a long day.
Building Shepherd’s Tap took nearly two years, countless hours, and plenty of trial and error. But the result is something we’re proud of—a handcrafted bar on wheels built with purpose, patience, and a whole lot of love. We hope it brings you as much joy (and beer) as it’s brought us.
